Dirt, Beauty, Lizard and I can't resist

In order of appearance:
Dirt. It's become a big part of our life as spring arrived. This particular instance, Ryan was playing in some sand and decided to rest his head, in the sand. Beauty. My sister-in-law gave me this primrose. I planted it out in the backyard in a bed that I see from my kitchen window. It took off and makes me smile every time I see it. Lizard. A few posts back I mentioned a lizard I got for Ryan and put it in his Easter Basket. He took an instant dislike to it and still thinks it's his enemy. So. . . we found a way to use that to our advantage (if this makes me a bad parent, let me know!). Paul and I have not wanted to drill holes in the storage drawer that is under our dryer to child proof it. We keep stuff like stain stick, garbage bags, sponges, etc in there. Ryan loves to open it and pilfer. The weight seen in the picture worked for a while...then he just figured out he could move it. So, enter said lizard. Ryan will not touch it and if he does he pulls back like he's been burned. It has an odd consistency to it. It works. Works well. He has not touched the drawer since the lizard took guard. I love it. A few less times I have to say, "No, Ryan." And, I can't resist. Is there anything better than a peaceful sleeping child?

A peaceful coexistence?

We are finding that our Miss Demeter-kitty is much more tolerant of Ryan's antics than our dog. She was not real fond of him early on, but I think there is a bond growing there. She still watches him closely -and bails out if the hand gets to heavy, but I really think she likes him. The second picture shows her doing what Ryan calls "kisses".

Happy Easter!

A few shots of our Easter morning. I put a toy lizard in Ryan's Easter basket - I am pretty sure he was afraid of it! The second basket, in cellophane is a gift from my co-worker Alexis. She was so generous and he loved it. Gotta love the crazy pajama's in the first picture.... he looks like a character from Dr. Seuss. Thanks Lindsay and Rob for the hand-me-down!

Itsy Bitsy

Here's Ryan attempting to humor me when I ask him to dance. He is also sporting a new big boy haircut in the video. With a lot of help and the assistance of Korryn's i-Phone, he sat still long enough to get a really good cut (although he was really displeased and tearful about the whole thing). He grew up before my very eyes! He looks so much older with his new look - and pretty freaking adorable too.... but I'm a tad biased.
Check this posting out to see the last time he danced to this song, he was nearly 13 months old then. Oh how he has changed!

Comfortable?

I don' t know how he could have been. Peaceful though, that's for sure.
