Our January

For the most part, we all concentrated on staying healthy.  We didn't do a very good job at it.  Starting back in December Ryan started with a stomach virus, then spread to Kathryn, Dad and finally Mom.  I have not been that sick in YEARS.  We all quickly recovered.  Bring on 2014.  One week in, Ryan gets a double ear infection.  I was told, "It's WAY infected."  Ryan was so mellow about the pain, just saying every now and then his ear hurt.  I questioned taking him to the doctor. Glad I did!  While he was on antibiotics, he got hit again with another stomach virus.  This time Kathryn got lucky and did not get sick.  Mom and Dad both got it again.  By this time I used more sick time from work within 6 weeks, than I used all of last year.  Brings us to the end of January. Get a call from daycare that Ryan is not acting like his usual self.  Get him home and find he has 102.9 temp.  Hot stuff!  Also had a nasty sore throat.  The fever persisted for about 48 hours, the sore throat for about 72 hours and that was that.  Here's hoping February is a tad more healthy.

The pictures above are from Martin Luther King day, hanging out in downtown Seattle.  It looks warmer than it was - Mom was bad and didn't bring coats. We were going to the Pacific Science Center and planned to park in their garage and just go right in.  Apparently a few other families thought the Science Center would also be a good idea on the holiday. Parking FULL.  We had to hoof it about 4 blocks. While chilly, we got some fun pictures and a chance to walk through Seattle Center.  Kathryn called Martin Luther King Day, Marther King Day - all day. Despite corrections.  Just couldn't get it right!
Some fun little cakes to help Ryan's fever filled weekend, stuck indoors, away from friends.  These little things, though time intensive were so much fun!

And lastly:
A glimpse at some of the sibling love shown in January.
Two insults that were slung from one sibling to the other.
From Ryan:
"IF I SEE YOU DURING OUR SWIM LESSONS I AM NOT GOING TO WAVE AT YOU!"
From Kathryn:
"I'M SO MAD AT YOU THAT AT MY BIRTHDAY PARTY YOU CAN'T HAVE A PIECE OF MY CAKE!"
