February Snow and Milestone Birthday

Starting off this post with a funny picture from Christmas Day that deserves a spot in the blog.  It speaks so loudly to how the 2020 pandemic was for lots of kids.  The bottom middle square is my son.  That is what remote learning does to a young mind.
Figuring out how to manipulate the system so they can get credit and simaltaneously do things they shouldn't such as watch The Office while technically in class.  ðŸ¤£
Kathryn had given up participation long before the Family Christmas Zoom was over.

Now on to February snow and my 50th birthday.  ðŸŽ‚

My 50th was spent at home. But I was far from alone.  Everyone in my family made sure I knew I wasn't alone.  Kelsey came by late morning with Kerri on FaceTime.  We spent about an hour visiting, laughing, crying.  I hadn't seen Kelsey in over a year.   Kerri sent 3 packages that I opened one by one throughout the day.  We did a family Zoom.  Korryn got me a pedicure and used Door Dash to send the most amazing sushi dinner.  I drank a bottle of Prosecco on my own as the day went by.  Kerri ended the day by sending the beautiful flowers. I started the day kind of sad and melancholy that I was 50.

Ended the day with immense gratitude that I could celebrate as I did.

My 50th birthday present to myself is buying/converting to a gas range.  My parents are contributing to the cost as a gift.  Once I got the ball rolling, it turned in to a big job - involving construction and an electrician.  Despite the extra cost, I didn't think about not going through to the end.  I will always want a gas range and the upgrades are worth it in the long run.  Range is ordered and set to be delivered and installed May 26th.

Huge gift basket from Kelsey & Kerri!

The birthday cake was a gift from work, made by Shirley.
 It was amazing! ⤵
