School's out! (almost)

Reviewed the last update on the blog, then took a look at the recent photo's since early April.  We still have two teens, two sports, two teenage kitties & Mom with two jobs.
That said, it's been an amazing few months.
Starting with Kathryn:
She got to travel to Victoria B.C with Mira and her grandparents in the Spring.  Got to experience the ferry ride there and high tea.  She loved it. Her time at Shoreline Christian School came to an end as she completed 8th grade.  We were there 11 years.  Some sadness with leaving that era behind, however changes at the school over the past 2 years made it clear it was time to move on.  She'll be a freshman at Ingraham High School come fall.
She participated in a YMCA volleyball program.  Her skills have improved drastically.  Her serves are killer good.  She has good awareness of her teammates and can anticipate their moves.  We are looking forward to volleyball at Ingraham.  She'll have to try out - but I think she has an excellent chance of being on the team.  The season also starts before the school year, giving her a chance to meet a few people before day one of school. Grateful for that. Currently she is attending a Volleyball camp at the University of Washington.  Per her report it's kicking her butt.  She also says it's the best coaching she's ever received.

This school year she got close to Sydney, a student who transferred back to SCS this year. Below is their picture at the school concert and a trip to a local ropes course.  I am extremely proud of Kathryn.  She's a beautiful young lady, maturing and showing responsibility right on course.

 Now for Ryan:
His lawn mowing job kicked off in March. He and Cooper hit the streets, knocking on doors, offering their services.  They do probably 5+ lawns per week.  They save the proceeds for bigger and better equipment, spend A LOT of money on burrito's at Chipotle and have plans to buy a truck to haul their gear.  Currently they walk pulling the equipment in a wagon or ask for a ride in the big truck owned by Cooper's family.
Ryan tried about for Ingraham baseball in the fall.  He unfortunately was cut from the team.  However, he emailed the coach asking what he could work on until next year when he'd try out again.  The coach was impressed at his initiative and offered him a spot on the team.  He didn't get to play much, but got all the perks of practice, traveling with the team and being a teammate.   His freshman year has gone incredibly well.  Mostly A's all year.  He is almost out of school. Friday is the last day - prolonged due to the 2 week teacher strike in September 2022.
After Ingraham baseball was over he played on the Little League team that he's been a part of, off an on over many years.  Just last week they won the local league championship, then won the next tournament allowing them to move on to the State tournament (starting July 1st).  He struggles with hitting, so often is on the bench.  He'd like to play more, but also grateful to be on the team.

The biggest change is he's had the chance to drive my car! 🤯 Just in a parking lot and around the block a few times, but it's time to let him get more time in behind the wheel.  He'll start drivers Ed in the fall.

Now on to the kitties.  My camera roll is full of their pictures.  They are always doing something cute, funny or naughty.
They turn 1 yr old this month

This picture - Hilda lying on my computer.  Daily.  Often.  If am at the table with the laptop she'll find me with her favorite toy - the spring seen in the picture.  We then play fetch.  I throw, she retrieves.  If I don't pay enough attention she'll flop on the computer or right in front of me.  Before I throw the spring, I'll say "ready?" She has the cutest meow and taps my hand as if encouraging me to hurry up and throw the toy!
This guy is always in places he shouldn't be. The dryer, the back of the dishwasher if the rack is pulled out, my sock drawer with the socks displaced throughout the house and often right by the front door anxiously awaiting a chance to explore the outdoors.  No chance buddy, you're indoor only.  He loves Kathryn.  If her door is closed at night and he thinks he needs to be in there, he will yowl at the door (often between 4-5am) until she opens the door.

But, seriously, HOW CUTE IS HE?!
Can't stay mad at his antics long.
