September 2019-December 2019

It's a few days in to the year 2020, but before I fully embrace this decade I am going to finish 2019 in my mini blogging way.
Starting off with the Fall Volleyball Season at Shoreline Christian.   Kathryn was able to participate on the Middle School Volleyball team even though she's only in 5th grade.  She learned a lot, had fun and I am pretty sure will continue to play through the next few years.

Lexi, Kathryn & Sofia - all 5th graders
Kathryn was chosen as student of the month for September 2019.
First year the school has done a program like this and she was chosen for thinking of others before herself.
She truly has an ability to consider others and offer compassion or support without missing a beat.
Ok, this years school pictures were a tremendous disappointment and a joke!
The school used a well known company - Yuen Lui.  Generally a great company.
The school pictures were awful.  Even the retakes.  For the first year ever, I won't be purchasing annual school pictures.  😟

 Halloween 2019
Kathryn was a "friendly vampire"
Ryan was a doctor (mainly because he didn't pull a costume together in time and his Mom was able to gather this costume with minimal work)
These 4 pumpkins were home grown!
They made for excellent carving.

It was a group effort this year.  Neighbor - Cooper, and Kathryn's classmate/good friend, Addie

 The final products!

On to fall basketball, Ryan is on the middle school basketball team at Shoreline Christian.
I've gotten all of one picture of him this entire season so far!
First time in a tie  ⑅
Marley and Cookie Dough.  Marley comes to visit whenever his family travels.  This time it coincided with a visit/stay from Cookie Dough.  Despite Marley's instinct to chase rabbits in his backyard, Cookie Dough quickly took the alpha role here.  He is not afraid of anything and was never shy around Marley.  They became buddies.
Christmas 2019
Annual Cookie Baking Day.
This year was the first year in Korryn and Wayne's new kitchen.
The amount of counter space!  Fantastic for cookie baking.
Everyone hard at work decorating.
Michael, Kelsey, Jade, Ryan & Kathryn.   Miss Jude watching it all.
 Annual Gingerbread House.
Snoopy theme this year
 The final product!

 Christmas Eve 2019
Ryan and Carson.
Carson is a kitty that just appeared at my parents place and never left.
He's charismatic and LOVES Ryan

We arrive at my parents for Christmas Eve, greet my Mom who's standing in the front yard. We chat, and she says I think Kerri is out here somewhere.  Out comes Kerri from behind a wall of trees/bushes with Bo.  An 8 year old black standard poodle.  Ryan, Kathryn and I start squealing and sobbing.  He looks so much like Joey & Pre combined.
Bo's first human, Sylvia is in her 80's and needed to move to assisted living.   She knew my parents, although not well - but enough that word got to her that they have experience with Standards.  That's how Bo came to live with my parents.  He joined them 12/23/19

 Christmas morning.
One of my favorite days of the year.
Home made cinnamon rolls
Time spent with the kids
And this year a game of scrabble to top it off before they left for their Dad's home.
Good memories.
We brought in 2020 with a 1000 piece puzzle, that collectively took 5 days to conquer!
Ok, 2020 - looking forward to what you've got planned.  😀
