Celebrating family and more

Welcome 2016!
New Years Day we all went to downtown Seattle so the kids could ride the Carousel and visit the Sheraton hotel that had a Star Wars scene made out of Gingerbread and candy.  It was impressive!
Pike Place Market pig
Kathryn's lunch at the Palisade's restaurant.
Pizza bigger than her head!

The end of the month was a huge special occasion for my parents.  They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. Also Mom's 70th birthday was January 2nd.
Korryn, Kerri and I (mostly Kerri, our family party planner)  threw a surprise dinner for Mom and Dad. We put them up in the Edgewater Hotel for a night, the same place they spent their honeymoon.  They had reservations at the Aqua restaurant (Kerri has previous ties there and friends still there), not knowing we would all join them - including Kerri and Sam who flew in from Atlanta.  Dinner was amazing and once completed much to Mom and Dad's surprise family and friends starting showing up to celebrate.  It was a hugely successful event.

Outside the restaurant, at the Seattle waterfront
Inside, with their "big kid" drinks.
Rootbeer for K
Orange juice for R.
The kids were outstanding the entire night.
We were there for 6 hours in all and not one issue with either.
They saved it all for the next day when they were super tired.  : )
Michael - approaching 24 years old.
Kelsey - approaching 22 years old.
Michael is moving from Bellingham, back to Seattle and working at a Starbucks
Kelsey is in her final year at the UW, with plans to go on to medical school.
 Dinner!
 The celebration!
Baked Alaska, the next picture will show the prep and presentation of the dessert.

My favorite picture and moment of the night.
Dad greeting and being genuinely surprised that his sister Bobbi (Rosemary) drove up for the occasion.

Moving on to February.  It's Valentine's Day today.  I'm catching up on months of blogging because our aging computer died and refused resurrection.  $900 later we have a new HP with a screen larger than my first TV.  Excessive in my opinion, super awesome if you ask Paul.
Today's treat:
Lastly, will end with two of my favorite girls.
Kathryn at swim lessons and Demeter-kitty snoozing on  my lap.
Miss Demeter just had some teeth removed due to internal abscesses in 3 teeth.  She sailed through with no complications and came back even nicer than before.  I think she may have realized after a day at the vet - that she has it pretty good here!
