Hibernation

It's been a month since I blogged last. When I realized that I tried to reflect on why it's been so long. I have no answer to that. . . so I am thinking we are in winter hibernation mode. Oh we get out. The YMCA a few times a week. Walks in the neighborhood between rain showers. Even a trip to the zoo or the pool here and there. Nothing note worthy. We celebrated half birthday's of both kids - a good excuse to have chocolate cupcakes. We toured the preschool we want Ryan to go to. Liked it a lot. He loved it. He is more than ready to go. Last fall I was not ready to let him go yet. I now am. More than ready. I think Kathryn needs her space and one on one time with me, and maybe, just maybe the fighting will simmer down a bit. Kathryn, when given her space is really developing an imagination. I have so enjoyed watching her grow, it's been wildly different than Ryan. Kathryn is a nurturer. Her babies are always getting fed, or diaper changed, or are cold and need a blanket. . . she plays with toy animals - calmly. On the flip side, Ryan is definitely boy. Crashing cars, building towers, using a crane to pick up toys. He's big into being a dinosaur and ROARING around the house, terrorizing the little sister dinosaur. And Ryan, LOVES to talk. Talk talk talk talk talk. My ears are so tired by the end of the day. He knows when I am just half listening and I get a, "right Mama" or "did you hear that Mama?" Of course very age appropriate. Makes my brain tired! Both kids have battled mild colds this winter season and Ryan and Paul got horrible cases of pink eye. Kathryn showed beginning symptoms of pink eye, but must have battled it on her own. Her nose is constantly dripping and the drooling habit. . . . just might be slowing down a bit. Please let it be! All of her shirts are drool stained! All in all we're all good. Ready for spring, ready for outdoor and warmer play. Ready to shake off the winter heaviness and feel sunny rays on our faces.
