Ouch

Look closely.
Ryan got plunked in the face so hard while at bat.  Baseball hit him and the stitches on the ball imprinted on his face!
Fortunately that was the worst of it.   Some bruising, but otherwise ok.
Emotionally though, it's been a tough season up at the plate.  He jumps out of the batters box; rightfully so.  Self preservation after an injury like that.
The picture below was taken at the beginning of the season.

Oh how I have waited.....

10 years in this home.
The longest I have ever lived in one place.
From the moment we looked at this home, with the hopes to purchase, I knew it needed new windows.
It took 10 years and one divorce to make it happen.
I am so happy and grateful!  It gives my home a clean fresh look.
Love them.
Now to get new blinds.  I took the old blinds off and put them in the dump.  That is where they belong - they were that awful.

Spring Break

This was my first vacation with JUST me & my kids - ever.  We traveled Northwest via ferry and our car to Sequim.  I wanted to take this trip for a couple reason, and for the kids it was significant too.  For me, the first trip on our own, as our team of 3.  We all worked hard to get through 2017 and deserved to relax and celebrate that we conquered all the ups and downs.  And for me, as well as the kids - we wouldn't have been able to take this trip if our sweet Joey was still alive.  She was too old to make the trip and having her stay with someone else, or even hire a house sitter would have been too hard on her.  We celebrated her while there.  Kathryn often spoke of Joey watching us as we played, saw the sights.  She would ponder what Joey would do in the same situation.  And you'll see pictured below, a memorial placed at the  kids favorite destination from the trip.

On the ferry trip over.  The kids were so excited they requested the 6:40 AM ferry.  😫☕
It was a tad windy
 First stop after the ferry.
Just a quick out for a picture and back on the road
Second stop:  Salt Creek Recreational area

The next days destination:  Olympic Game Farm
A drive through farm, that allows feeding whole wheat bread to animals.  Those llama's were fairly aggressive with getting their bread.  They would run along side our slow moving car and stick their head in for more bread.  I was like"uhhh, let's keep moving" & the kids were belly laughing.

This guy flew right over us, within a few feet of our car.
 Truly majestic bird
There were a surprisingly large number of peacocks on the farm

And our memorial to Joey, compliments of Kathryn.
She likes to think about what others might think when they see or find the rock.
The breakfast on our way back home.  Oak Table Cafe, in Sequim
They called this their Apple Pancake.
Man it was good!
