Jim Creek Camping - Year 5

Jim Creek never fails to be memorable.
It fell on the hottest weekend on record for somewhere around 80-90 years.  108 at the highest where we were.  Those temps changed how we typically enjoy the time - but adjusted as much as possible.
Not pictured is the time spent sitting in the creek, drinking, laughing and enjoying each other.  More families this year, more fun.
Holli, out host came up with the idea to do a children against adults Olympics.  It was super fun and in the end the adults won, however the kids were quite close.  Super fun competition, both kids and adults jumped in to the activities.  Frisbee golf was cancelled because of the heat.

My accommodations for the weekend!  It was by luck I landing in an air conditioned RV.  Holli's son bunked with us so she placed us in a unit that had enough bed.  The AC made it possible, otherwise we wouldn't have been able to stand the heat.  Even with the AC going on full, chocolate in the RV was melting!

Gaga ball.
Neither of my children are in the ring in the picture, but once the sun went down they spent a lot of time here embracing the new game.  So much so, Ryan was very sore at the end of the weekend. "Mom the muscles in my stomach really hurt!"  😂
It's like a game of dodgeball mixed with volleyball.  The ball stays on the ground and the goal is to avoid being hit.  They can only use their hands to move the ball.

Kathryn on the climbing tower.
She was disappointed she didn't get farther up.  The grasps were so hot, it made it hard to pause and get a good grip to move forward.   Anyone that tries to climb the tower has my respect!

Kathryn and her Jim Creek friend Julia.  💙

This is what we came home to:
88 degrees inside, 97 outside.
I had two babies to see that evening at my 2nd job.
En route to the 2nd baby my car thermometer read 112 degrees.  By the time I was done for the day, I was sick.  Suppose that is a glimpse of what heat exhaustion feels like.

Gas range update:
Electricians are here today to change the voltage to the range area.  Too much power currently runs there for electric stove.  Going from 4 amps to 3 amps.  My stove/range is now out of commission.  I got confirmation that the gas range is all set to be delivered and installed a week from tomorrow!  In the meantime we have 4 days to play in Seaside.  🏖
